Launched on June 30, 1934 and commissioned on January 6, 1936, the Admiral Graf Spee was a Deutschland Class Panzerschiff (Armored Cruiser/Pocket-Battleship). The ship displaced over 16,000 tons, was 610 feet long, and 70 feet at the beam; her main armament consisted of six 11-inch guns. Between September and December 1939, the Admiral Graf Spee sank over 50,000 tons of Allied shipping. In December 1939 three Royal Navy cruisers were badly damaged by the Admiral Graf Spee, but she was also hit. The pocket-battleship put into the neutral port of Montevideo for repairs. Believing he was trapped by superior forces, Captain Langsdorf scuttled the mighty Admiral Graf Spee on December 17, 1939. This beautiful, mint condition print measures 11"" x 17"" and is personally signed and dated by the artist."
