In this beautiful sketch with only the light blue shading, Air Chief Marshall Sir Hugh Dowding visits an RAF Fighter base on the outskirts of London in the summer of 1940. He talks to some of his Gallant 'Few' as they return from an intense dogfight that has just taken place over the English Channel. The immense courage of the pilots would save England from invasion and ultimately turn the tide of the Second World War.
In addition to the artist this print was individually hand-signed in pencil by THREE distinguished Battle of Britain pilots who went on to be Aces:
