Overall Print Size: 21½" x 26½"

The crew of the ironclad CSS Virginia (ex-USS Merrimack) readied the ship for departure, many believing they were taking the vessel out for her sea trials. The Virginia's captain, James Buchanan, had other plans to test his ship and men. He would attack the Union's blockading force stationed at Newport News, Virginia. When the day was done, the Virginia would achieve a great victory by running the USS Minnesota aground, sinking the USS Cumberland and leaving the USS Congress burning.
