A B-17 Flying Fortress bomber returns to England after its mission over Europe. Over the peaceful countryside of East Anglia, with wheels and flaps down, engines throttled back, the captain gently eases the big machine down the glide path toward touchdown. A pair of pheasants scuttle into the air as the roar of the engines reaches a crescendo. Local farmers stop to admire the great war bird coming home. This magnificent print combines a great weapon of war with a beautiful English winter landscape.
