The USS Yorktown CV 10 was christened, as was her predecessor, by Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt on January 21, 1943. Commissioned on April 15, 1943, and commanded by Captain J. J. Clark, she was the fourth ship to carry the name Yorktown. She earned a Presidential Unit Citation and sixteen battle stars for her service in World War II and Vietnam. The Yorktown is moored at Patriots Point, South Carolina.
